Gravel Run – Longer
It is a condition of participation in CTC Grampian club rides and activities that all participants will have familiarised themselves with, and agreed to comply with, the terms of the risk assessment, which can be downloaded here: Cycling UK CTC Grampian Covid Risk Assessment
Please note, picnic coffee stops may change to cafe stops/take-aways depending on availability.
The leader will email the google group, CTCGrampianCUK@googlegroups.com with any changes, nearer the date.
CTC Grampian is now running Gravel Rides, typically, the following ride details apply:
- Distance: 45 to 75 miles
- Average moving speed: 8 to 10 mph
- Road surface: 20-40% gravel (80-60% tarmac)
- Gravel type: 60-90% compacted ground with gravel (fire roads, forest roads)
- Suggested bicycle type: road bike with relaxed frame geometry/gravel bike/cyclocross bike/hybrid bike/rigid mountain bike or hard tail with locking suspension forks
- Suggested tyre width: minimum 32 mm
- Coffee stop: yes (bring your favourite caffeinated/decaf drink)
- Lunch stop: picnic on gravel (bring a seat mat)
- Social distancing: yes
- Ride frequency: once or twice a month
